Embryo Photography specializes in maternity photography in Mellunkylä and the greater Helsinki area. For me, a maternity session is an opportunity to celebrate the anticipation of a new life — I want to capture the moments when the expectant mother and family can be present, feel strengthened, and see themselves in images they truly love. Clients often tell me it’s empowering to have photographs where they feel they really succeeded, and that feedback guides my work at every session. I’m Jarno, a self-taught photographer whose work reflects a natural aesthetic and a genuine interest in people. Nature has been my greatest source of inspiration and I have photographed in places such as Iceland and Norway — yet my heart is at home, and local knowledge of the Helsinki region is one of my strengths. I approach maternity photography with a documentary and atmospheric style: the goal is authentic expressions, a warm mood, and moments you’ll want to return to years from now. My working style is relaxed and calming. We plan the location and the look together — often the best spots for maternity images are found in nature or urban environments — and I give gentle, phrase-like directions so the atmosphere stays spontaneous. With my local knowledge I find places where the light and surroundings support your story. During the winter months a studio session is also possible if you prefer a more controlled and understated look. After the shoot I take care of the image editing and deliver the photos via a clear gallery link so the moments are easy to share and preserve. A maternity session can be a private, intimate experience or part of a broader family photography package — I always work according to the client’s wishes and comfort.
