Riikka Rojo is a maternity photographer based in Varkaus, specializing in pregnancy portraits and maternal photography. My passion is to capture this unique, delicate phase of pregnancy as a natural and treasured memory. My approach is understated and warm, emphasizing soft, flattering light — I rely heavily on natural light and on the cozy, atmospheric studio space located in an old factory school classroom. My day job as a registered nurse has taught me sensitive interaction, calm presence, and how to guide people in situations where safety and trust are important. This experience carries over into my photography: I create a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere where the expectant mother (and partner, when desired) can feel genuinely confident and comfortable. I focus on your story — the small gestures, the looks, and the sense of warmth that surrounds a family awaiting a new baby. My shooting style is intimate and careful. I recommend studio sessions when you want soft, controlled light and a homely mood, but I also offer on-location photography in natural surroundings or pleasant outdoor settings. Collaboration with clients begins with a conversation and attentive listening: together we plan clothing, locations, and the overall look so that the final images feel truly like you. For me, the most important thing in a maternity session is to make the experience enjoyable — with no unnecessary pressure.
